Starting Tomorrow with High-Level International Participations to Discuss 130 Scientific Papers.. The Conference on Resilience and Sustainability at UoB Discusses the Design, Planning, and Construction of Environments

The Third International Conference on Resilience and Sustainability: Climate Change will be launching tomorrow, Monday (15 November 2021), which will be discussing the fields of engineering, business and science, to design, plan and build sustainable environments, with the aim of spreading awareness in the areas of resilience and sustainability.
The Conference – which discusses about 130 scientific papers in two days – is sponsored by the President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, and will be attended by decision-makers in the public and private sectors.
In its third edition, the event attracted researchers and experts from various countries, including: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, India, Morocco, Iraq, Pakistan and Indonesia. Also, it attracted prominent sponsors, such as: BNP Paribas, and the technical supporter, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The Conference is organized by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at UoB, and it is scheduled to present innovative practices in the design and construction of sustainable cities and spaces. As its papers examine several topics, including: biodiversity and the environment, building systems and processes, building assessment methods and tools, building information modeling systems, climate change, cooperation for sustainability in the Asian region, approaches to innovative thinking and sustainability, disasters and conflict, education for sustainable development, energy: oil, gas, renewable fuels, sustainable finance and investment, smart urbanization, agriculture, water and fish, green houses, and green management.
The President of UoB, Dr. Al-Mudhahki stressed the need to develop sustainable strategies that enhance scientific research, noting the importance of producing and measuring serious indicators of urban, environmental and economic sustainability, in light of climatic changes witnessed around the world.
Also, she indicated that the International Conference on Resilience and Sustainability looks forward to discussing the roles played by the development system in its various dimensions in the climate issue, which helps restore balance in the Earth, pointing to the importance of adopting environmentally friendly methods to avoid exposing it to more pollution, or the continuous rise in temperatures, which negatively affect all creatures.
For his part, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at the University, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qadir, indicated that the Conference covers a wide range of modern topics related to Bahrain Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals, expressing his confidence that the diversity of knowledge presented by the Conference will be extremely beneficial for the participants, pointing out that among the most prominent participants in the event, the first keynote speaker for the Conference, TV director and maker of “Plastic Ocean” film, Craig Leeson, and the second keynote speaker, Arab Gulf University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Waheeb Issa Al-Nasser, who will talk about attention towards climate change.
