The Application Period Continues Until The 29th Of the Month, And Admission Is Open for Students Who Transferred from Other Universities UoB: May 8, Start of Submission of Applications for Admission to Undergraduate Programs

The University of Bahrain (UoB) announced that the period for submitting applications for admission to undergraduate programs (the first period) will extend from next Sunday (8 May 2022) to Sunday, the 29th of the same month, noting that the door for admission is open to students who transferred from other universities (external transfer) during the same period.
During July 2022, the results of admission for undergraduate students (first period) and external transfer requests will be announced. And starting from the date of the results of admission announcement, students will be able to confirm their acceptance, and they will be allowed a second chance to change their preferences after confirming their acceptance. After that, admission tests and personal interviews will be held for the academic programs that require so after the completion of the acceptance confirmation period and the implementation of amended preferences.
The President of UoB, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, confirmed that UoB is proud to have secondary school students who are expected to graduate this year, and who meet the admission requirements, for choosing to study in it as it is the national university, explaining that opening the door for external transfer comes in the context of providing opportunities for everyone to join UoB.
Dr. Al-Mudhahki called on those who wish to join UoB to take the initiative to complete the procedures, after forming a clear vision of the academic paths in which they intend to submit applications for, as it charts their professional and academic future, and she wished them all the success.
On the other hand, the Dean of Admission and Registration at UoB, Dr. Amal Zayed Al-Zayed, stated that applications will be made using different mechanisms for two categories. As Bahraini and non-Bahraini students who graduated from government schools inside the Kingdom of Bahrain shall submit their applications through the Information and eGovernment Authority website (bahrain.bh), while students who graduated from private schools, Bahraini and Gulf students who graduated from private schools outside Bahrain, students who graduated last year (2020-2021), students of Nasser Center for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training, and students wishing to transfer from other universities to UoB, are invited to submit their applications via the application link on the student information system website (sis.uob.edu.bh).
The Deanship of Admission and Registration reviewed the most important instructions for submitting applications for the next academic year, noting that “students who are expected to graduate with a cumulative average of 65% or above will be allowed to submit an application for admission to undergraduate programs (first period), provided that they will be accepted into the University with a cumulative average of 70%, while students with special needs will be accepted with a cumulative average of 66.6% or above”.
The Deanship drew attention to the fact that students applying to enroll into the University through the Information and e-Government Authority website can edit their preferences for the programs selected through the same website during the application period.
Also, the Deanship alerted applicants through the student information system (SIS) website that the following documents must be attached: a colored photograph, a copy of a valid passport, or proof of renewal in case of expiry. For non-Bahraini students residing in Bahrain, a copy of a valid residence permit or proof of the renewal procedure, a valid ID card or proof of renewal in case of expiry.
The Dean called on graduates of private schools to attach a secondary school graduation certificate or its equivalent from the school, transcripts, graduation affidavits, and transcripts certified by the Ministry of Education.
As for the students expected to graduate in the second semester of 2021/2022, applying through SIS, the Dean called them to attach the transcripts of (5) semesters, and the SIS system will be opened later to update the required papers and documents after graduation.
Moreover, the deanship indicated that the application fee of 10 Bahraini dinars is non-refundable, stressing the importance of submitting a medical fitness examination certificate from one of the accredited governmental or private centers or hospitals in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Deanship of Admission and Registration pointed out that the applicant can modify his data on the student service website (sis.uob.edu.bh) after completing the application process through the links on the application screen, as mentioned below:
– Update application information and preferences.
– Modify Uploaded Documents.
Also, the Deanship stated that the credit hour fees for newly admitted students will be subsidized for Bahraini students at 8 Bahraini dinars per credit hour, while the fees for non-Bahraini students will be 80 Bahraini dinars per credit hour.
Regarding the conditions of external transfer, the Deanship stated that the permissibility of transferring a student from another university to UoB is subject to several conditions, namely: that the other university is recognized by the concerned authorities in the Kingdom, and that the student submits to the Deanship a newly approved academic record with the required documents, a certificate of good conduct and behavior from the university he is transferring from, and a recommendation from two members of the academic staff, provided that they have taught him at that university, his secondary school diploma must be eligible for admission to the program he wishes to transfer to, that his studies are regular at the university from which he is transferred (full system), he must have successfully passed (30) credit hours or its equivalent at the university from which he is transferring, and his cumulative average should not be less than (2.33) out of (4.0) (C+ or its equivalent in other academic evaluation systems).
Also, the Deanship stipulated that for external transfer, the relevant academic department council must approve the transfer request, after considering the student’s academic record, the scientific content of each course he passed, and determining the courses that he is exempted from studying, and that the applicant should not have been expelled from any university for disciplinary reasons.
In addition, it stipulated that when submitting the transfer request, the applicant should not have dropped out from the university from which he was transferred for more than (16) weeks, and that the student should have taken at least (50%) of the hours required for graduation at the university.
The Deanship stated that the documents required for external transfer are: transcripts from the university from which the student is transferred, a copy of the secondary school transcript or its equivalent, with a graduation statement certified and approved by the competent authorities, and content of the courses to be equivalated at UoB which is certified and approved by the university from which the student is transferred, and the student must submit two academic recommendations from his professors who taught him.
Moreover, the student must have successfully passed the tests conducted by the academic department (if any) for external transfer, and he must submit a colored photograph, and a copy of a valid passport or proof of renewal in case of expiry. As for Non-Bahraini students residing in Bahrain, they must attach a copy of a valid residence permit or proof of the renewal procedure.
According to the Deanship, a valid ID card, or proof of renewal if it expired, and an application fee of 10 Bahraini dinars must be submitted, in addition to a medical fitness examination certificate from one of the approved centers or hospitals in Bahrain.
