The President of the University of Bahrain Discusses Prospects for Collaboration with the National Geographic Learning

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, stressed the importance of the National Geographic Learning’s role in encouraging students to learn, through developing the foundation program, availing the educational content and providing students with language and cultural skills which would contribute to improving their performance at all levels.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka made this statement when she received a delegation from National Geographic Learning, on Wednesday November 16, 2022, to explore prospects for collaboration and promote collaboration in the educational aspect.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka added that the University of Bahrain has collaborated with National Geographic Learning since the establishment of the Learning Resources Center in 2017, which includes audio-visual equipment, multimedia, and a library containing 7000 books. The University of Bahrain adopted the National Geographic education curricula after studying the market needs as well as the university study requirements
The University of Bahrain’s collaboration with National Geographic Learning include adopting curricula that promote the concepts of global citizenship, sustainability and future foresight, to develop young people’s intellect and broaden their perceptions. In addition, it provides training opportunities for teachers and students on personal skills, career readiness, and the use of technology in education. The University of Bahrain also attracts elite international speakers to deliver workshops and seminars.
The meeting was attended by the President of Cengage Global Business and the General Manager of the National Geographic Education Foundation, Alexander Broich, in addition to attendees from Cengage’s National Geographic Education Foundation including Executive Editor Laura Le Drian, Head of Sales for GCC and Central Asia Jonathan Koksal, and Senior Sales Manager for GCC Hakan Ayaz.
Present from the University of Bahrain were the Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader, Dr. Diaa Saqr Al-Jalahma, Advisor to the President for Academic Affairs, and Director of the English Language Center, Dr. Dana Abdel-Rahim.
