The President of the University of Bahrain Receives a Delegation from Microsoft Bahrain and Oman

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhahki received on Wednesday March 9, 2022, Country Manager of Microsoft Bahrain and Oman, Sheikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosani at the university’s premises in Sakhir.

Uob President lauded the government’s directives and goals related to digital transformation, being one of the most important directives to achieve Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which will support the university’s partnerships with various international institutions such as Microsoft, to increase productivity and enhance the level of security and management of technical operations.

Dr. AlMudhaki reviewed with Sheikh Al Hosani the experiment of the University of Bahrain in employing various technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cyber security in higher education, with the support of the College of Information Technology, the Cloud Innovation Center and the E-Learning Center. She stressed the importance of the fruitful partnership with Microsoft, especially in using technologies and professional certificates obtained by UoB employees during the previous years, which contributed to the success of the digital transformation process at the University of Bahrain.

For his part, Country Manager of Microsoft Bahrain and Oman highlighted the training programs designed specifically to meet the needs of faculty members and students to improve their technical skills and developing their capabilities in the areas of information technology. He also reviewed the features that Microsoft provides through Microsoft Teams Program.

The meeting addressed the contribution of Microsoft’s activities to empowering educational institutions, developing the skills and capabilities of staff in the field of information technology, and consolidating e-learning through digital platforms.

The meeting was attended by Ikhlas bint Ibrahim Al Abdwani, Education Sector Lead Bahrain and Oman at Microsoft, Hamad Ahmed Al Saei, Regional Director for Education at Microsoft Middle East, and Ahmed Ibrahim, Modern Classroom and Microsoft Solutions Specialist as well as Vice President for Information Technology Services and Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Dean of the College of Applied Education Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Baqer, Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering Dr. Fuad Mohammad Al-Ansari, and Director of the Information Technology Center Wael Muhammad Attia.
