The President of UoB Participates in the Meeting of the Executive Council of The Association of Arab Universities

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, is participating in the first Executive Council meeting of the 53rd session of the Association of Arab Universities, which will be held at Prince Mohammed bin Fahad University from 14-16 November 2021.
The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Association, His Excellency Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, and the President of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad University, Dr. Issa Bin Hassan Al-Ansari, President of the current session of the Association, with the participation of heads and representatives of Arab universities from 22 countries under the umbrella of the Association. As discussion took place on the activities of the General Secretariat of the Association during the previous and current stages, requests to join the Association, the seminars and conferences held, the place and time of the next conference of the Association, in addition to reviewing the reality and future of Arab universities. Also, the members of the Council reviewed the memorandum of the General Secretariat on the award for the best doctoral thesis and the award for the best master’s thesis for the fifty-fourth session.
Moreover, the proposal for the statute of Prince Mohammed bin Fahad University for the best scientific production was approved, with a value of 250 thousand dollars, which was presented at the Association’s last year’s meeting. The Award aims to enhance scientific research and applied research, raise the level of scientific research in the Arab world, in addition to strengthening the culture of scientific research, encouraging publication in scientific journals, and creating a spirit of scientific competition among researchers in general.
Also, the Council discussed the proposal to establish the Council for Sustainable Development, the Council for Social Responsibility, and the Youth Council for Arab Universities.
