The President of UoB Receives the Representative of WHO in the Kingdom of Bahrain

On Thursday (6 January 2022), the President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, received the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Tasnim Ghaleb Atatrah, at the university headquarters, to study ways of cooperation to achieve common goals, and the optimal approach to facing the challenges of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Dr. Al-Mudhahki praised the efforts made by WHO to preserve public health, and raise awareness, whether about this virus or others, of information that contributed to spreading an atmosphere of knowledge and reassurance, as it is information coming from the highest and most responsible health organizations in the world.
On her part, Dr. Tasnim Atatrah expressed her thanks and appreciation to the President of the University for the good reception, noting the University’s role in contributing to national activities, scientific research, and international symposiums, to study the effects of the Corona virus pandemic, and mitigate its repercussions, and praising the ability of the National University to deal with this pandemic by continuing distance education.
The meeting dealt with the possibilities of cooperation between the University and the Organization, in order to continue achieving the sustainable development goals and implementing the 2030 sustainable development plan.
It is worth noting that WHO officially opened its office in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 26 July 2021, which is the twentieth country office of the organization in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, and the 122nd of the organization globally.
