Hackathon “Post Corona Pandemic (Covid-19) Recovery” Discusses Administrative Challenges in the Public Sector during the Pandemic

Ten teams participated in the Hackathon “Post Corona Pandemic (Covid-19) Recovery”, launched in June 2021 in a tripartite partnership between the University of Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) and the United Nations Development Office (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The participating teams consisted of graduate students at the University of Bahrain, a number of university faculty members, and mentors from the public sector, to promote partnership between educational institutions, and provide solutions to current and future challenges, in a creative and sustainable manner, seeking to fulfill the aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The closing ceremony of the Hackathon “Post Corona Pandemic (Covid-19) Recovery” is to be held on Sunday November 28, 2021 in the Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Hall at the University of Bahrain in Sakhir. The three best research papers offering innovative solutions for some administrative challenges in the public sector during the pandemic will be announced. The tripartite partnership in the Hackathon has supported and developed innovative scientific and research initiatives that push towards achieving sustainable development goals of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The ceremony will be attended by the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, the Director General of Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, the Acting Head of the United Nations Development Program Office, Ms. Aykan Mukanbitova, the Undersecretary for Works Affairs at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Chairman of the Arbitration Committee, Engineer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayat, in addition to officials in the public sector and those interested in this field.
