The University of Bahrain Discusses Enhancing Collaboration with Oxford Business Group

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, received representatives of Oxford Business Group for Research and Consultancy at the university’s premises in Sakhir, on Wednesday November 2022. Dr. Al-Mudhahka lauded the fruitful collaboration between the University of Bahrain and (OBG), expressing the University’s willingness to provide all facilities that would enhance collaboration between the two sides, particularly research partnership with faculty members and postgraduate students, to provide economic solutions for the business and economy sector, at the local, Gulf, and Middle East levels.
The President of UoB highlighted the most important achievements of 2022 and the future plans that would improve the University’s academic level through updating current programs and introducing new ones compatible with the needs of the labor market to enhance integration of University graduates into the labor market through refining their personal skills and obtaining professional certificates in different disciplines. The meeting touched on the University’s interest in developing entrepreneurial skills of its students, the effective partnership between the University and the private sector, and the university’s endeavor to enhance such partnership.
Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief of Oxford Business Group, Andrew Jeffreys, stated that the group, as a global research and consultancy company, seeks to promote the growth and development of the markets of the Middle East, through highlighting the growing investment opportunities in the region. He referred to the widespread reliance on research resources and tools that help provide an in-depth analysis that covers national economic recovery plans for multiple sectors in each country, including economic activities, diversification efforts, digitization, business supporting regulatory environments and global communication.
For her part, Fernanda Braz, Country Director of OBG, mentioned that Oxford Business Group is currently working on providing a portfolio rich of relevant research tools, in collaboration with its partners. This portfolio includes environmental and social governance reports, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), future readiness reports, as well as a set of articles and interviews on growth and recovery prospects for each country in the Middle East. She also discussed the idea of educational tourism and the potential of the University of Bahrain to attract international students.
The meeting was attended by Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader, and Assistant Professor, Information Systems Department, College of Information Technology, Dr. Amal Muhammad Al Rayes, from the University of Bahrain.
