The University of Bahrain Responds Comments on Claims Concerning Transportation of Students with Disabilities

The University of Bahrain stresses that there are drivers dedicated to transport students with disabilities from outside and within the University.

In response to claims concerning transportation of students with disabilities, the administration of the University of Bahrain expresses its surprise that some students with disabilities resort to social media sites to complain that they are not receiving the usual services provided to them by the University of Bahrain.

To clarify the issue to the public opinion, the University of Bahrain stresses that it pays full attention to all its students, especially those with disabilities and  that the University spares no effort to facilitate learning for students with disabilities. The University has always provided drivers to transport students with disabilities to and from their homes, as well within the University. One of those drivers has recently reached retirement age according to civil service regulations, and is no longer working with the University.

The University has immediately provided an alternative after the retirement of the said driver. Accordingly, there have always been enough drivers dedicated to transporting students with disabilities to and from their homes, and within the university.

The University of Bahrain notes that students with disabilities are advised to make any complaint about services provided by the University through official channels, so that the problem, if any, can be identified and resolved.

The University of Bahrain reaffirms that it has always been keen to learn about the complaints of all its students, especially those with disabilities, to overcome difficulties, if any.
