Under The Patronage of the President of The Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, Sheikh Saqr Al Khalifa UoB Students As “Basketball” Champions in Bahrain Universities Association League

The student team of the University of Bahrain (UoB) was crowned a champion in the basketball tournament of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities for the 2021-2022 season in basketball. As the students of UoB scored a well-deserved victory against their competitors, the students of the Gulf University, in the final match, with a score of 75 points, compared to 63 points, and the President of UoB, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, received the championship cup from the President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, Dr. Sheikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The University President extended her sincere thanks to the representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for Their Highness’s insightful vision to explore and develop the skills of students and youth in the sports field, and their Highness’s interest in building Bahraini sports cadres in the categories of children and youth to be the pillar of the Bahraini sports renaissance in the future, and contribute to raising the name and flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain in various sports, continental and international competitions and forums.
Also, she expressed her happiness with this athletic achievement, achieved by students in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as UoB dominated the basketball championship in all versions of the tournament, praising the performance of the students, and the preparation and training carried out by the professors and technical support staff.
Dr. Al-Mudhahki stated that: “The University of Bahrain is keen to have its students participate in various local and regional fields and forums: scientific, cultural, artistic and sports, and is proud of the students’ achievements that represent the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
The match was held on Saturday evening (February 26, 2022), at the Al-Ittihad Stadium in Umm Al-Hassam, which witnessed a fierce competition between the two universities’ teams to win the basketball championship title for this season.
The President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, Dr. Sheikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, crowned the winning team, in the presence of the President of UoB, Dr. Al-Mudhahki, who participated in honoring the players, the winning teams, the league champion, and members of the technical and administrative staff. Also, the final match was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs at UoB, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Maliki.
It is worth mentioning that this year, UoB is participating in all group games in the schools and universities leagues (volleyball, basketball, and football), with 44 students in the three games, in addition to technical and administrative staff.
As 12 local universities are participating in the Universities League, which was organized by the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, and its first matches began on the twenty-fifth of last December.
