University President receives the Chairman of the Bahraini-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Committee
The University of Bahrain to strengthen cooperation with Thai academic institutions
University of Bahrain President, Prof. Riyad Yousef Hamzah, received at his office on Tuesday 12th September 2017 the Bahraini-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Committee, with the presence of MP Abbas Al-Madhi, the Thai MP Dr. Chusak Limsakul and his accompanying delegation. Prof. Hamzah discussed with the Committee the prospects for cooperation, the scientific and research potentials available to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand, and the means of enhancing cooperation between them in these fields.
During the meeting, Dr. Limsakul said that he found all the support, understanding and desire for partnership by the University of Bahrain, pointing to the importance of student and academic exchange between the two parties, activating and increasing participation in attending conferences and specialized scientific events, as well as working on joint scientific research. He mentioned that he is looking forward to benefiting from the advanced scientific capabilities at the University of Bahrain through the scientific and banking disciplines in general and in the Islamic Banking program in particular.
For his part, the University President, Prof. Hamza, welcomed the scientific cooperation with the Thai universities and the prestigious research centers and stressed that the University of Bahrain will spare no expense to support and promote this cooperation because it represents openness to different cultures and enriching the academic faculty members, researchers and students in both countries, noting also many new programs offered by the University of Bahrain in all the colleges, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
MP Abbas Al-Madhi stressed the outstanding scientific position of the University of Bahrain, noting that the outputs of the University of Bahrain are required in the labor markets due to their high scientific composition reflecting the university’s programs which are accredited locally and internationally.
Prof. Hamzah praised the role played by the Bahraini-Thai Parliamentary Friendship Committee. The two parties stressed the importance of continuing meetings between them for further coordination and cooperation, and focusing on the common factors between academic, research and student parties in both countries.
