UoB and Prince Charles’s Foundation to offer MA in Environment and Sustainable Development

news 19 04 2017 1aUniversity of Bahrain and the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community (BFBC) in the United Kingdom signed yesterday (Tue. 18th April 2017) an agreement to enhance cooperation among them in educational processes and research, which will jointly develop a master program in environment and sustainable development. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by Prof. Riyad Hamza, the University President, and on behalf of the British establishment by David Toman, Chief Executive of BFBC. Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yaqoob Al-Hamar, and the University Vice President’s and college Deans also attended the event.

 

news 19 04 2017 1bProf. Hamza stressed that this agreement comes as part of the University’s directions to widening its fruitful scientific cooperation with the higher education establishments in the United Kingdom. He added that the Prince Charles Foundation is considered one of the international establishments specialised in design, planning and urban development. He expressed his hope that the roots of cooperation between the two sides, as stated in the agreement, would be implemented fully and that the agreement would benefit the educational and research reality in both establishments.

 

The agreement stated that both parties shall work effectively to enhance cooperation among them in higher education according to the laws and regulations in both countries, and that they would exchange work experiences and scientific research in higher education fields and methodologies, and scientific and technical research.

 

The agreement regulated the introduction of a master program in environment and sustainable development jointly, in addition to designing curricula pertaining to environment studies, sustainable urbanisation, biological variation, sustainable development, and urban design.
