UoB, BAC discuss future collaborative projects
University of Bahrain (UoB) President, Prof. Riyad Hamzah held a meeting in his Sakhir office with Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, where they discussed various opportunities of collaboration between the two organisations. Several UoB and BAC officials were also in attendance.
Mr. Al Binfalah expressed his gratitude for all the efforts that UoB’s President and its faculty are taking to ensure the success of the Passenger Announcement (PA) voice competition, which will select the voice of passenger announcements at the New Passengers Terminal currently being built at BIA as part of the Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP). BAC intends to launch the contest soon in cooperation with UoB.
He said: “This contest is one of the social initiatives that BAC aims to carry out as part of our social responsibility strategy for the AMP, which is one of the largest development projects in the Kingdom. We would like to thank UoB for its valuable contributions, and we look forward to launching the contest as part of this productive partnership.”
Prof. Hamzah said: “We are pleased that UoB is playing a part in the strategic and social plans of the New Passengers Terminal through this unique competition, which will represent a national achievement that we can be proud of. This is a real opportunity to motivate our nation’s youth and our students, and to help us discover a future generation capable of contributing to our society’s prosperity and progress, which is our goal at UoB.”
The meeting also discussed a number of other BAC projects for the coming period, as the two explored fields where the university can provide academic research and practical support.
