UOB Business Introduces Students to ESG Reporting In Bahrain

Accounting Students at the College of Business Administration attended a seminar titled “Environmental, Social, and Governance Reporting in Bahrain.” The seminar focused on the importance of ESG disclosure and its alignment with international standards.
Students engaged in a discussion about the challenges companies face in meeting ESG disclosure requirements and ways to develop internal policies to improve compliance.
Mr. Vivek Gupta, Chairman of ICAI Bahrain Chapter, led the session, and discussed Bahrain’s Vision 2030, its connection to ESG practices, the role of non-financial reporting in investor confidence, regulatory support for sustainable disclosure, and the standards for ESG reporting.
The seminar topics included the ESG reporting framework, guidelines, recent global trends, the impact of ESG standards on organizational performance, and their role in promoting transparency and economic sustainability.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Gagan Kukreja, Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting.
