In the University celebrations of the National Day
Bahrain University Students see Bahrain as global
Prof. Hamzah: The University has made global achievements during its history which we are proud of on our national day
The President of the University of Bahrain, Prof. Riyad Yousef Hamzah, on behalf of all the University employees, has presented his sincere greetings and congratulations on the 46th National Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. In addition, he congratulated the Wise Leadership on the occasion of the 18th Anniversary of the Accession of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The President also congratulated the wise government and all the people of Bahrain on the occasion of the University of Bahrain celebrations of this glorious national occasion.
During the tour he made during the celebrations at the University’s headquarters in Sakhir, Prof. Hamzah said: “The University is moving forward confidently as part of the initiatives to elevate Bahrain towards globalization,” emphasizing that the University of Bahrain, in its journey, has achieved “global goals in various fields of science and expertise†due to the wise leadership support to the Kingdom and sponsoring knowledge in all its institutions. He added, “the National University is at the top of the educational institution, contributing to the development process, and keeping abreast of scientific developments in order to ensure efficient graduates of international standards.â€
The President, Prof. Hamzah stated that the University invests the national events to encourage students to participate and interact positively with all university and community life activities, in order to maintain the personality of the student on both sides: the knowledge gained in the classroom and the skills polished through various activities.
Prof. Hamzah added: “the University always looks forward to excellence and creativity in all student activities, and seeks to provide an educational environment, and a healthy atmosphere appropriate for creativity and excellence.†Dr. Hamzah then thanked and praised all the participants in the celebrations, especially students and participants from outside the University.
The University walls were decorated with red and white colors. The students and the members of both academic and administrative faculty wore the scarf of the flag of Bahrain for the occasion.
The President of the University, Prof. Riyad Hamzah, opened the celebrations with the participation of student bodies represented in: colleges, societies, clubs, centers, departments and divisions in the University. The students had already prepared their special corners in the main square of the University.
The celebrations included a musical spectacle of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF), as well as the spectacles of the participating bodies. The winners of the competition of “The most beautiful poem in love of the homeland†were announced. The event also included a classical car show, a stage show for the Theater Club, a show for Arab falcons, the traditional art music genres of fidjeri and līwa, an exhibition of visual arts (art, photography), and a musical festival.
The participants and visitors expressed their joy on this occasion through interaction through the activities of the celebration which varied, and were remarkable with a series of ideas and aspirations to bring the Kingdom of Bahrain to internationalism in various scientific fields. The kiosks and corners at the celebrations also presented the achievements of the professors and students of the University of Bahrain, and the achievements of the Kingdom at the regional and global levels.
