UoB Confucius Institute Graduates 5th Batch of Trainees
The Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain celebrated the graduation of the fifth batch of Chinese language learners from the public sector. The ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom His Excellency Mr QI Zhenhong, President of University of Bahrain Prof. Riyad Y. Hamzah, Director of the Institute from the Bahraini side Prof. Wahib Issa Al-Nasser, and the director of the Institute from the Chinese side Dr Wu Shui Yen.
In his speech, Prof. Al-Nasser spoke about the importance of being open to the Chinese culture through learning Chinese and the astronomical aspect of the Chinese calendar, praising the institute’s role during the past period. On her behalf, Dr Wu Shui Yen spoke about the Bahraini culture.
The ceremony included the graduation of 40 trainees, a dialogue between trainees in Chinese, and the trainees singing a song in Chinese.
The total number of Confucius Institutes around the world is 367 in 127 countries. It aims to promote Chinese language, culture and philosophy.
