UOB Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Huawei

During a meeting with Huawei representatives, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, emphasized the importance of fostering constructive cooperation. He highlighted the opportunity to leverage Huawei’s advanced expertise in information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance the academic skills and capabilities of professors and students in the College of Information Technology (CIT).

Dr. Al-Ansari met with Eric Lee, Managing Director of Huawei Bahrain, and Julie Paul, Public Relations Manager of Huawei Bahrain, at the university’s Sakhir campus. During the meeting, they discussed potential areas of collaboration to position the University of Bahrain as a key supporter of the Huawei ICT Academy. The cooperation will focus on offering high-quality “Train the Trainer” programs, comprehensive ICT courses, and advanced programs aimed at nurturing and empowering young talent in the field. Additionally, the partnership will provide students and professionals with essential skills and certifications related to the technical sector.

Attended by Dr. Hessa Jassim Al Junaid, Dean of the College of Information Technology, the meeting emphasized how the collaboration would support the country’s overall technological progress and diversify its economy.
