UoB offers intensive workshops to develop teaching for the University instructors

The Unit of Teaching Excellence and Leadership (UTEL) at the University of Bahrain is offering intensive workshops with the participation of Professor Mark Davies, the expert reviewer for the European Commission and national grant-awarding bodies in Europe. The workshops are scheduled from tomorrow (Tuesday) until next Thursday at Zain e-Learning Centre in the University campus in Sakhir.

These workshops come as the first fruits of the ratification of the international agreement between the University of Bahrain and the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom last week.

Professor Davies has borad experience in the quality systems of higher education. He has worked as a consultant for many agencies and universities in different countries.

The workshops offered focus on three topics, namely: assessment through applying peer and self assessment to enhance learning, the British example in career and academic development, and methods for enhancing student attendance in higher education fields and reducing their absence.

UTEL has invited all the academics in higher education to attend these workshops which assist in exchanging experiences, which in turn enhances the teaching process and teaching skills of academics.
