UoB President Receives Director of “Skills Bahrain” and Lauds National Achievements in Developing Education and Training

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhahki, lauded the new initiatives to develop education and training, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, the most important of which is “Skills Bahrain”, as it is concerned with the classification of skills required for practicing the different professions and the needs of employers. This would contribute to the economic development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The President of the University of Bahrain made this statement on receiving director of “Skills Bahrain” Project Mohammad Ahmadi, the consultant of “Tribal Education” Simon Peters, and the Communication and Partnerships Officer at “Skills Bahrain” Ahmed Mujeeran, at the university’s premises in Sakhir on Wednesday February 2, 2022.

Dr. AlMudhahki stressed that the university is keen on investing in youth energies, as they have the potentials of building the future. She noted the project’s role in providing the necessary resources required to facilitate the transition from the academic stage to the practical one and that it is an important source of job skills required for career and professional growth in all sectors.

Dr. AlMudhahki touched on the rapid changes taking place in jobs and specializations in the labor market, and the need for continuity of education, qualification and continuous development of skills, that would lead to sustainability of human capital.

For his part, the Director of “Skills Bahrain” highlighted the role of this integrated and the first of its kind project in the country in qualifying the national cadres and developing human capital, which would in turn contribute to raising productivity, supporting the national economy, and accelerating development.

The two parties reviewed topics of common interest, ways to develop and qualify national cadres in various fields to provide bodies and institutions with administrative, training and technical competencies, accelerate the pace of achievement and improve work in the government and private sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
