UOB students in Sclerosis awareness week
Students of the University of Bahrain participated in the sclerosis week, (Multiple Sclerosis Multiple MS sclerosis) held by the Bahraini Association for multiple sclerosis patients, in order to educate students to the concept of this disease and ways to deal with it positively.
Multiple sclerosis results from the work of immune system in the body to destroy the membrane surrounding nerves. Viather membrane damage in the process of communication between the brain and rest of the body, has become the nerve damage is treatable, and symptoms of the patient feeling exhausted.
The media talked to Dalal Salem, from Saudi Arabia about her story with the MS disease, as she was struck by the disease during their time at university causing her to lose the ability to speak and walk normally
“The disease drove me into a state of despair and subsequently forced me to retire from the media center. In the meantime however I got a chance to work with one of the private television channels.â€
For his part, fitness trainer Mohammed Al Balushi said, â€The disease forced me to sit at home, and I did not play football with my friends for fear of injury on myself, so I become overweight.â€
He said in his speech about the history of the disease: â€I got sick when I was twenty five years old and became desperate to improve my life, and searched for the causes of the disease on websites, which affected my mental health . Then you look up in the global sites, where I got positive results and eased the fear of who I become.â€
Aram Rezouki (expert Makeup Kuwait) talked about her own experience, she was working in a bank for a period of seven years, and then contracted MS disease that led to a relapse of her health, this changed her life. She then showcased her work on instragram, and continues to accumulate large number of followers which enabled her to innovate and to overcome her illness.
