UoB to host International Conference on Innovation and Intelligence for Informatics, Computing, and Technologies
More than 90 Research Papers from 23 Countries
The College of Information Technology is organizing the International Conference on Innovation, and Intelligence for Informatics, Computing and Technologies. It will be held at the University of Bahrain from 18 – 19 November.
By bringing together researchers and academics, the two-day conference aims at sharing the latest developments in the field of computing and informatics, the world of artificial intelligence, as well as electronic security and the Internet.
Dr Lamya Mohamed Aljasmi, Dean of the College of Information Technology, said that the Conference will provide a platform for innovators and researchers to present their work in information technology.
‘In line with the strategic objectives of the UoB Transformation Plan (2016-2021), the conference aims to encourage scientific research among faculty members. The College of Information Technology focuses on research related to industry, business, governance and society. Through channelling all efforts towards local and regional issues related to information and communication technology, we play an integral role in promoting sustainability and economic growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain,’ said Dr. Aljasmi.
She added that twenty research papers by faculty members at the College will be presented in the Conference.
The conference will be held in collaboration with Edge Hill University in the United Kingdom, Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and the British Council in Bahrain. It will be technically sponsored by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and IEEE Bahrain Section.
More than ninety scientific papers will be presented by researchers from twenty-three countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Keynote speakers from prestigious universities in Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Pakistan, Norway, Egypt, South Africa, and Oman will also present their recent research.
The Conference will cover areas such as Cybersecurity, Smart Cities, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Telecommunication and Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Robots and Data Mining.
A workshop on the Internet of Things will also be conducted by specialists from the United Kingdom. The workshop will provide a detailed explanation of the technology and its applications.
The accepted for publication papers will be available in the IEEE Xplore digital library and indexed by Scopus.
