UoB’s “Engineering” Discusses Artificial Intelligence and Energy Research Paths

The Postgraduate Studies Forum at the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain (UoB) will be reviewing scientific research in the fields of artificial intelligence, renewable energy engineering, communication systems and architecture, and will hold dialogues linking its postgraduate programs with these fields.

The Forum will be held next Thursday (24 December 2020) and is scheduled to introduce four postgraduate programs developed and offered by the College during the 2020-2021 academic year, including master’s in communications and networks engineering, master’s in architecture, master’s in renewable energy engineering, and master’s in artificial intelligence systems.

Regarding this, the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, stated that “One of the objectives of the Forum – in this year’s edition – is to introduce partners, scientific links and specialists from outside the University, whether in Bahrain or abroad, to the applications and studies that these new programs can delve into and start implementing.”.

“We wish to review areas of partnership with a number of institutions to implement theses, research and consultancy work, in addition to holding short courses and workshops.” He further added.

Also, Dr. Al-Ansari indicated that the Forum is also an opportunity to follow up the scientific presentations of academic professors from outside and inside Bahrain, as well as engineers with expertise in applications related to these programs, as the Forum will hold six research seminars for the participants.”

Forum sessions will start from ten in the morning on Thursday until two in the afternoon of the same day, via the virtual platform Zoom, and according to the agenda, the first session is scheduled to begin with an opening speech by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Fuad Al-Ansari, in which he will talk about the Forum’s objectives and desired outcomes.

Then it will be followed by the presentation of Professor of Communication Systems at Alexandria University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Prof. Mustafa Yousef, who will review a paper on how to benefit from these recent studies in relation to the master’s program in communications and networks engineering offered by the College of Engineering at UoB.

As for the third session, it will be presented by Dr. Ghaith Abandeh, a faculty member at the University of Jordan in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who will give an academic research presentation in the field of artificial intelligence, and how to link the outputs of the master’s program in engineering with the master’s in artificial intelligence systems offered by the College of Engineering. While in the fourth session, the architectural expert at Dar Al-Khaleej Engineering Company, Dr. Suhail Al-Masri, will present a lecture on future courses in the labor market for the outputs of the master’s in the architecture program.
