Various Fields of Work and Employment for Graduates of the College of Law at the University of Bahrain

The Dean of the College of Law at the University of Bahrain, Dr. Salah Mohammed Ahmed, affirmed that there are various future fields of work for graduates of the College of Law in line with the conditions of the society, since the law is concerned with the regulation of relations between various individuals, groups and institutions.

On the occasion of the start of admission to the university, Dr. Ahmed stated that, “The College of Law, which dates back to nearly a quarter of a century offers Bachelor of Laws at the first university level for students in the scientific, religious, literary, developed commercial, apprenticeship and unified tracks.” Dr. Ahmed expressed his pleasure with the College, which has graduated more than one thousand students holding a bachelor of law, who have held important positions both in the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad.

The Dean stated that there are many fields of employment after graduation, including the judiciary, the legal profession, banks, commercial companies, ministries, government institutions, the diplomatic, academic, military and security service, noting that the salary of the graduate ranges from BD 400 to 900 at the start of work according to the employer’s discretion.

Dr. Ahmed pointed out that studying law requires several skills, the most important of which are analytical and logical thinking skills, in-depth research, and the ability to propose creative solutions, in addition to English language skills, as a few courses are taught in English in the program, while the majority of the courses are taught in Arabic.

Regarding period of study, Dr. Ahmed referred that the average is four years, noting that the distinguished student (whose GPA is 3 and above) can complete the study in less than four years.

The Dean noted that the College contains the Legal Clinic Centre, the Human Rights Centre and a legal library and that all its study programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels have received full credit by the Education and Training Quality Authority. He noted that the graduates of the College are in high demand in the labor market.
