It is my pleasure to extend my sincerest thanks, gratitude and appreciation, through this page, to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country and Supreme President of the University of Bahrain, and the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain for their precious trust by appointing me as Vice President for Planning and Development. This trust motivates me to work day and night to contribute to raising the status and reputation of our National University by proposing planning initiatives and development programs within an organized and realistic strategic philosophy, in fruitful coordination and cooperation with the office of His Excellency the University President, fellow vice presidents, deans, directors of centers and departments and members of the distinguished academic and administrative bodies, and our dear students.
It is undeniable that the work of the Office of the Vice President for Planning and Development contributes to the continuous efforts of the University Administration aimed at improving the academic and administrative work through strategic planning and development, and raising the scientific standing of our National University, on both the Arab and international levels, and making it one of the most important tributaries of development in our dear Kingdom.
The Office of the Vice President for Planning and Development opens its arms to all partners from inside and outside to work with each other within a participatory and reciprocal philosophy with the aim of advancement and moving forward towards development and prosperity.

ABOUT THE OFFICE
The Office of the Vice President for Planning and Development was established in accordance with the decision of the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain, in its meeting on the 24th of September 2019, appointing Dr. Haya Ali Al-Nuaimi as Vice President for Planning and Development, starting from 9-10-2019. The Office supervises the medium and long-term strategic planning and development issues that will potentially enhance the scientific standing of the University on the Arab and international levels and support academic and administrative work to be part of the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work with the University’s senior management to define medium and long-term strategic goals.
- To cooperate with the concerned parties at the University to develop action plans that are consistent with the medium and long-term strategic goals.
- To evaluate the systems and regulations in force at the University and provide the necessary improvements, including proposing the amendment of structures, processes, practices and evaluation methods.
- To prepare and submit presentations or reports to senior management on the proposed strategy, rationale for options, and action plan with the time frame.
- To organize workshops, forums and other events that would support the planning and development process at the University.
- To prepare a media plan to promote initiatives, strategic programs, proposed action plans and expected results.
