Eskan Bank – At a ceremony held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Housing, Chairman of the Board of Eskan Bank, HE Eng. Bassem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, at the University of Bahrain in Isa Town, three students were honored as the winners of this year’s Eskan Bank Award for Creative Engineering. The winning projects were selected from among 85 projects submitted by students of the Faculty of Engineering.
This award, presented for the fifth consecutive year, was entitled this year “Optimal spaces for a more beautiful life.â€
The first prize was awarded to Yasser Abdul Aziz Abdul Hussein Hassan, while Ahmed Issa Abdullah Jassim received the second prize, and the third prize was awarded to Huraa Ali Ahmed Mahari.
“We strive to create homes for all Bahraini Families, not just houses made of cement walls. We want people to have comfortable homes with exceptional quality and design. By offering this award every year to students, Eskan Bank paves the way for future engineers who are about to graduate from the University of Bahrain, by encouraging them to present their best designs, and help create beautiful cities that bring joy to their residents and visitors in the future,†said Dr. Khalid Abdullah, Esakn Bank Director General.
Dr. Abdullah congratulated this year’s winners and said: “The competition was very fruitful and produced many creative designs. Shortlisted projects will be uploaded on the Bank’s website, as a permanent showcase of creativity.â€
UoB Vice President for Academic and Graduate Programs, Prof. Wahib Issa Al-Nasser, said: “Eskan Bank Award for Creative Engineering encourages students to explore ways to become more innovative. To qualify for this award, all participants must adhere to high standards set by Eskan Bank and the University of Bahrain, inspiring the next generation of engineers and preparing them for the labour market, in line with the latest international developments.â€
Eskan Bank Award for Creative Engineering is an annual award initiated by Eskan Bank in 2013, in cooperation with University of Bahrain, to cultivate the spirit of constructive competition, extend the horizons of creativity and innovation of young minds and encourage youth involvement in national housing and urban development.
Based on the highest professional standards, the award is granted to distinguished student entries from various engineering specializations in the University of Bahrain. The competition is held annually to encompass various themes pertaining to the latest developments in architectural design and modem construction techniques, aimed towards meeting the goals of sustainable development in order to fulfill the housing needs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
