Workshop on Strategies for Enhancing Educational Practices at UOB

Academics at the University of Bahrain were introduced to new strategies for enhancing teaching and learning during a recent workshop organized by the University’s Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership, titled ‘Peer-to-Peer Exchange Visits.’
The workshop emphasized the importance of mutual observation in teaching as a tool for professional development in teaching and learning. It provided guidance on how to effectively observe each other’s teaching. The workshop also outlined the four stages of observation: the pre-observation meeting, the observation session, the post-observation meeting, and the reflection phase.
The workshop aimed to highlight the value of mutual observation in enhancing teaching and learning, facilitate the implementation of a mutual observation cycle with colleagues, identify areas for improvement in teaching practices, encourage constructive feedback among academics, and help develop their teaching skills.
The workshop was led by Dr. Noor Nabeel Aldoy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at the College of Engineering, and Dr. Basma Taqi al-Najar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Bahrain.
